Challenge... issued.

Ever take a minute and consider the things you actually say to God during worship?  During those songs of praise, we cry "Holy, Holy, Holy", we "Shout To The Lord", we call Him "Friend", we even say "Thank You Lord".  On a Sunday morning, when the music is loud, the guitars and drums are being felt within your chest, it's not hard to raise your hands and sing the praises of the one true King.

But what happens when the sanctuary lights are dimmed, the fellowship lunch is over, and the hectic motions of life once again take priority in your life where His worship once held court?  We move on.  Those words we sang, shouted and cried?

Forgotten.

We become once again concerned with dinners, bills and budgets, office politics, kid's homework.  God takes the back seat in the car as we navigate the road of life.

This Sunday, as we sang His praises, it occurred to me that once the song is over, how are we conveying our praises to him when we leave His house?  The word tells us to "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.)

Remember, rejoice ALWAYS.

This week, I issue you a challenge to try and keep those shouts and praises going long into the week.  When you sing in the shower (and I KNOW you do...) sing a song to Him.  When you are tempted to put a Top 40 station on the radio for your commute to the office, consider changing the words: It can go from being "All About That Bass" to being all about that King.  When you are frustrated and preparing to shout an expletive, shout praises unto the Lord instead.  When you are humming a tune in your head, hum for Him.

Rejoice.... ALWAYS.

Until we meet again, keep on praising....  :) Christine.
